Open Enrollment: October 29 – November 18

Open Enrollment is one of the only times during the year you can make changes to your employee benefits without a qualifying life event. Take time to review them so you can make the best decision for you and your family. Open Enrollment this year is October 29 – November 18, 2020. Any changes or updates you make during this time will become effective on January 1, 2021. You will be able to make changes and updates to your benefits in Employee Self-Service during the dates of Open Enrollment only.

New & Important This Year:

• There are no in-person Open Enrollment meetings this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, please consider watching this brief video presentation.
• To earn $70 off your deductible in 2021, complete and log 200 points with Virgin Pulse by October 31, 2020. Click here to review the health and well-being incentive program resources. You may also wish to watch a video presentation for more information.
• New this year, an optional vision care plan is being offered to cover the costs of eyeglasses, contact lenses, and more. It’s available to ALL insurance eligible employees, whether you’re enrolled in the MN Advantage health plan or elsewhere. You may also wish to watch a video presentation for more information including coverage and premium costs. Consider reviewing the Open Enrollment Guide for additional information.
• There are new employee premiums and out-of-pocket rates for existing benefits. A rate guide is available to show you the cost of premiums in 2021.

Do you have to do anything during Open Enrollment if you want to keep all your benefits the same in 2021?

• With the exception of pre-tax flexible spending accounts, all of your current employee benefits will continue in 2021. You must make a new election for flexible spending accounts if you wish to continue in 2021. If you wish to participate in the new vision care plan, you must make an election.
• Employees should review their medical Primary Care Clinic (PCC), as this impacts your out of pocket costs such as annual deductibles, office visit copays, coinsurance, etc.
• Tip: During Open Enrollment you can’t change your primary clinic in Employee Self-Service unless you also change your health plan carrier. To only change your primary care clinic, contact your carrier.
• There are new requirements for those who waive medical insurance benefits. Review the waiving medical insurance page to determine if action is required of you.

For a successful enrollment, we encourage you to review the Open Enrollment Guide which contains step-by-step instructions for you.
