Fall Semester 2020 Temporary Changes for Library Course Reserves
We want to alert you to COVID-19 impacts on our Course Reserves Collection in the Livingston Lord Library for the Fall Semester. We will be offering physical reserves, but we plan to quarantine items for 72 hours after each use. Our loan periods have also changed to 1-day, 3-day, and 7- day checkouts. We will continue to offer our temporary digital reserves whenever possible. This includes digitizing specific sections of books, providing ebooks (items available in the library’s digital collections and possible purchases), and searching for ebook alternatives. With either offer, you will need to allow up to 10 business days for processing. Faculty may want to consider alternatives to course reserves such as checking with publishers to see if they would provide digital access to textbooks, locate Open Education Resource (https://libguides.mnstate.edu/OER) to replace or supplement the course text for the semester, and look for film and video to stream with our Streaming Media Services (https://libguides.mnstate.edu/COVID-19/StreamingMedia).
For forms and additional information about procedures, please see our Temporary Course Reserves LibGuide (https://libguides.mnstate.edu/COVID-19/coursereserves). Thank you for your patience during this time.
