Pieces by Karen Joan Kohoutek published in book and journal

An essay by Karen Joan Kohoutek, entitled “A Fit Symbol for His Meaning: Arthur Machen and the Inexpressible,” has been published in the book “The Secret Ceremonies: Critical Essays on Arthur Machen.” Two of her shorter pieces, a book review and an essay on the Ladd Observatory in Providence, Rhode Island, an important landmark in the life of weird writer H.P. Lovecraft, have also recently been published in the Fall issue of the journal “Dead Reckonings.”

Kohoutek is a library technician at the Livingston Lord Library and a graduate of MSUM’s MFA program in Creative Writing.
