Welcome to the #DragonFamily: Jake Lords

Meet MSUM’s Assistant Wrestling Coach, Jake Lords. He is taking his coaching experience and bringing it to the mat, helping his wrestlers become successful athletes and individual
Start date: September 3, 2019
Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: The wrestling program is a huge reason why I came to MSUM. Coach Nelson called me asking if I would be interested. I have been to Fargo to wrestle a few times and we happened to stay in Moorhead and I really enjoyed the area. I came here and found that it would be a good fit.
Q: What is one thing that surprised you about MSUM?
A: It’s not really a surprise, but everyone is so kind and friendly here, I love it. It’s a comfortable area to be in!
Q: What unique experience or skills from your last job do you bring to MSUM?
A: I was a high school wrestling head coach for six years before coming here. I have that experience and can help Coach Nelson grow this program to its full potential.
Q: What is your go-to productivity trick?
A: I’ve got to get moving. I need to get a lift in or wrestle or just get my blood flowing. That what I do to feel more productive.
Q: If you could trade place with anyone for a day, who would it be and why.
A: I think I would trade places with President Blackhurst to see what she does on a daily basis. It would be fun to be her and fun for her to see what the wrestling program is like for a day!
Welcome to the #DragonFamily, Coach Lords. We’re glad you’re here!
