Take Back the Night – #MeToo
Wednesday, Sept. 18 | 5-9 p.m. | Campus Mall
MSUM’s annual Take Back the Night BBQ and Rally will take place Wednesday, Sept. 18 on the Campus Mall (in case of rain, we’ll meet in the CMU Ballroom)! Join us to support survivors and, this year, to learn about gender-based violence as a global, human rights issue.
This year’s rally features two phenomenal speakers from the international community: local author, human rights activist and City Commissioner Laetitia Mizero Hellerud, and author, journalist and organizer Sohail Abdulali.
From 5-5:45 p.m., join us for food, community, and resource tables on the Campus Mall. Then stay to hear our featured speakers and march with us to Davy Park in Moorhead, where we’ll hold our luminary-lit Survivor Speak Out and open mic.
All are welcome to attend.
If you’re interested in volunteering at the event or are a survivor who would like to tell their story at the rally, contact Women’s Center Coordinator Dana Bisignani at dana.bisignani@mnstate.edu or stop by the Women’s Center in Bridges 154 this week or next.
