School of Art students’ research highlighted for Women’s History Month

Last semester twelve students participated in Professor Anna S. Arnar’s “Curatorial Projects” seminar in which each student conducted research on artwork by women artists featured in the permanent collection of the Plains Art Museum. The class produced a 97-page catalogue titled “Out of Storage” with essays dedicated to forty-one different artists. These essays are currently being used by the Plains Art Museum social media campaign #Plainsartmuseum to highlight important works by women artists in their collection throughout the month of March. In addition, selected students from this seminar along with Professor Arnar will participate in a panel discussion about this project on March 19 at 3:30 p.m. for MSUM’s celebration of Women’s History Month organized by the Women’s Center.
