Proposed 2019-2020 Parking Recommendations & Changes
The MSUM Facilities, Grounds & Safety Committee (FGSC) is charged with reviewing the University’s parking regulations annually. The committee has recommended the following parking changes for the 2019-2020 school year:
Parking Lot Structure
Maintain the reserved designation of the R4 parking lot north of Hagen Hall. The upcoming Weld Hall renovation will utilize a portion of this lot for set up for construction materials. As a result, this lot will have limited parking once the remodel begins. Temporary barricades will be set up to create driving lanes for cars to turn around, instead of coming to a dead-end. This lot designation will be reconsidered based on the campus needs after the Weld Hall renovation construction is complete.
Parking Rates
MSUM parking lot maintenance, repair, reconstruction and snow removal costs are covered by funds generated from parking permits, meters and fines. Tuition and other class fees are not used for this purpose. The rates recommended for 2019-2020 will help maintain campus parking lot conditions to meet the expectations and needs of our students, staff and visitors. There is a proposed increase for General, Reserved and All Zone permits as follows:
- General permit prices will increase as follows ($10 increase):
- $165 to $175 per year
- $100 to $110 per semester
- N/A per summer.
- Reserved permit prices will increase as follows ($15 increase):
- $250 to $265 per year
- $145 to $160 per semester
- $70 to $85 per summer
- All Zone permit prices will increase as follows ($20 increase):
- $310 to $330 per year
- $175 to $200 per semester
- $90 to $120 per summer
