K-Nelson screened at Altered Esthetics and the Duluth Superior Film Festival
Kyja Kristjansson-Nelson (School of Media Arts & Design) presented her short experimental film, Hús, at the Duluth Superior Film Festival at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 2, as part of a Regional Shorts program. K-Nelson then traveled to Minneapolis to present her film at the Altered Esthetics Film Festival showcase for Creative Vision Award nominees.
The Altered Esthetics curators nominated 6 artists, including K-Nelson, whose work demonstrated a commitment to their personal voice and vision over conventional storytelling. All of the Creative Vision nominees were presented during the 7:30 p.m. screening on Saturday evening at the Strike Theatre.
Hús (House) was exhibited at additional festivals over the last few months, with screenings at the Fargo Film Festival in March, and the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival, Speechless Film Festival, and New Mexico’s Experiments in Cinema in April.
