Tom McGrath Visiting Writers Series celebrates National Poetry Month

On Friday, April 27 at 7 p.m., Juliet Patterson and Kevin Carollo will be reading at Zandbroz Variety at 420 Broadway in Downtown Fargo.

Juliet Patterson is the author of “Threnody” and “The Truant Lover” (Nightboat Books) and the chapbooks “Epilogue” and “Dirge.” Her poems and essays have appeared widely in numerous magazines. She lives in Minneapolis with her partner and son.

Kevin Carollo teaches world literature and writing at MSUM, and is Senior Editor for New Rivers Press. He is the author of the chapbook “Elizabeth Gregory” (OMH Editions), available through Rain Taxi Review of Books. He is pictured here with Elizabeth Gregory.

On Thursday, April 26 at 4:30 p.m., Paula Cisewski and Sarah Fox will be reading on The Library Porch at Livingston Lord Library on the MSUM campus.

Paula Cisewski’s fourth poetry collection, “Quitter,” won the 2016 Diode Editions Book Prize. She is also the author of “The Threatened Everything” (finalist for the Burnside Review Book Prize), “Ghost Fargo” (winner of the Nightboat Poetry Prize, selected by Franz Wright), “Upon Arrival” (Black Ocean), and several chapbooks, including the lyric prose “Misplaced Sinister.” She has been awarded fellowships from the Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts, the Jerome Foundation, and the Minnesota State Arts Board. Sarah Fox is the author of “Because Why” and “The First Flag,” both from Coffee House Press, and the chapbooks “Old Wives’ Tales” (500 Places Press) and “Invisible Wife” (above/ground press). She is a teacher, astrologer, and graduate student working towards licensure as a clinical psychologist. She lives in NE Minneapolis.
