MSUM students achieve Honorable Mention in national competition

First recognition for MSUM since 2015

Two student teams representing MSUM in the Public Relations Student Society of America’s national Bateman Case Study competition placed in the top 20 in the country and received Honorable Mentions.

The two MSUM teams winning Honorable Mention are:

The Fierce Five and the Bear with Me Campaign:
Allison Belfiori, Kassidy Lee, Kristin Leither, Connor Hanson and Alexandra Hasche.

Dragon’s Fight Cancer and the Bee the Purpose Campaign:
Samantha Rushford, Madison Korf, Chelsey Ness, Emma Harris, Esther Saavedra and Rocky.

Most schools enter one or two teams, but MSUM entered three, all under the direction of Professor Liz Conmy, who uses the Bateman Case Study campaign as a capstone project. Three MSUM teams received Honorable Mention in 2015 and one team in 2014.

The competition is PRSSA’s premier national case study competition for public relations students and gives students an opportunity to create and implement a complete public relations campaign. The client this year was With Purpose, a nonprofit focused on building awareness of research needs for childhood cancer.

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) received 84 entries from schools of all sizes for the 2018 Bateman Case Study Competition.
