Short-term study abroad course proposals
Faculty interested in leading a short-term study abroad course in 2019 are invited to submit proposals. Information about the process is available on the MSUM webpage: https://www.mnstate.edu/studyabroad/facultyresources/.
Note that the access to this information is not available through the Study Abroad webpage, but rather through the “myMSUM” Faculty and Staff portal; click on “Study Abroad” under “Academic Resources.”
Short-term faculty-led courses are an important component in MSUM’s slate of study abroad offerings for students who cannot take a semester or school year to be away. These courses might involve coursework specific to your major, or they might involve LASC coursework.
The deadline for proposals is Friday, March 30, 2018, meaning all paperwork, including verification of departmental consultation, must be submitted on or before 4:30 p.m. that day. The Academic Affairs Council will review the proposals and make approval/denial decisions on Tuesday, April 3, after which faculty will be notified. This will give approved courses time to begin promoting and recruiting at the end of spring semester, with primary recruiting taking place in the fall.
