Chamber Music of the African Diaspora

In commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, the School of Performing Arts presents Chamber Music of the African Diaspora Tuesday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m. in Glasrud Auditorium, located in Weld Hall. The event will feature students and faculty musicians performing music in a variety of styles and genres by African American composers. Poetry by Langston Hughes, George Moses Horton, Jada Myrick, Melvin Tolson and others will be read between each musical selection to celebrate the rich and varied cultural traditions that have contributed to the American cultural fabric.
