Student organization officer meetings, annual registration

Student Organizations: Please mark your calendars for upcoming Student Organization Officer and Treasurer Meetings, as well as complete the Annual Student Organization Registration Process.

Student Organization Officer Meetings:

Each student organization needs to send at least one student officer to our upcoming student organization officer meeting. Important updates impacting student organizations, resources our office can provide, the annual registration process, and expectations for how to use your organization’s DragonCentral page will be shared. The information will be the same for each session; your organization only needs to attend one session. Organization advisors are also welcome to attend, but there will be a separate advisor training offered in mid-to-late September. Please RSVP on DragonCentral to let us know you’re coming!

  • Wednesday, September 6 from 4:30-5:45 p.m. in CMU 203 – RSVP Here
  • Monday, September 11 from 5:30-6:45 p.m. in CMU 205 – RSVP Here

Student Organization Treasurer Meetings:

This annual training is for student organization treasurers and includes more detailed information regarding student organization budgets, forms, and how to spend money. If your student organization does not have a specific officer assigned as treasurer, you may send a representative who will be responsible for the financial transactions of your organization. Organizations must attend one of the three sessions:

  • Wednesday, September 20 from 4-5 p.m. in CMU 205 – RSVP Here
  • Monday, September 25 from 6-7 p.m. in CMU 205 – RSVP Here

Annual Student Organization Registration Process:

In order to maintain recognition status, all recognized student organizations must complete the annual student organization registration process by the fall semester deadline each year. This year’s registration deadline is 4:30 .p.m Monday, September 18, 2017. This process includes completing an online registration form, which will have you review your DragonCentral page and update officer information. After submitting this online form, you will need to return to the Office of Student Activities a paper form that includes all of your Organization Officers’ and Advisor’s signatures. You will find a link to this paper form on the last page of this online process or you can stop in the Office of Student Activities, CMU 113, and pick up a blank form.

This process includes reviewing various policies and procedures, some of which have changed in the last year. You can find this list of “Policies/Procedures to Know” on our OSA website at https://www.mnstate.edu/osa/organizations/registration.aspx.

Your student organization should designate an officer to take the lead in completing this process. You will start the online process on DragonCentral at: https://mnstate.campuslabs.com/engage/register. Unless you have changed officer settings on DragonCentral, all currently listed organization officers should have access to your organization’s registration form. If you do not have access, please send an e-mail to osa@mnstate.edu and include your name, student organization, and position.

If you have questions about any of this, don’t hesitate to ask.
