SoMAD hosts valentine screening

Sunday, Feb. 12 | 2 p.m. | Glasrud Auditorium

The Red River Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society (RRATOS) is partnering with the Minnesota State University Moorhead School of Media Arts and Design to produce “My Funny Valentine”a free, family-friendly screening of three “two-reeler” romantic-comedy short silent films starring the famed comedians Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, and Buster Keaton.

Local theatre organist Dave Knudtson, who regularly scores silent films for Grapevine Video (an Arizona company that restores and re-releases classic silent films), will be playing a live original score to the movies on an authentic theatre pipe organ in Glasrud Auditorium. The pipe organ is a hidden and rarely heard gem at MSUM.

“My Funny Valentine” is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, in Glasrud Auditorium in Weld Hall on the MSUM Campus at 1201 6th Ave. S. Moorhead. Admission is free. Come discover yet another hidden treasure of Fargo-Moorhead!
