#GetInvolved and Vote in the General Election!

Do you meet these requirements?

  • You are at least 18 years of age on election day, November 8th, 2016
  • You are a U.S. citizen
  • You have the right to vote
    • Meaning you have not been convicted of a felony that’s sentence has not expired or discharged
  • You are not under court-ordered guardianship
    • Meaning a court order has not revoked your right to vote
  •  You have not been found by a court to be legally incompetent to vote

If you meet all these requirements, then congratulations! You can vote in the general election!

1042703_1280x720Now, voting registration deadlines vary from state to state, but some states allow same day registration, and North Dakota does not require any registration. You can learn more about North Dakota’s requirements for voting here on their Secretary of State’s site.

If you’re a student who lives on campus at MSUM, you can vote as a Minnesota resident which would make the CMU Ballroom your polling station. If you are not registered to vote in Minnesota, you can register on the day of the election. To learn more about voting requirements and what to bring, visit the Minnesota Secretary of State’s site.
