Veterans hold chili cook-off at MSUM to crown champion, WDAY: “The competition was heated as veterans at MSUM showcased their best chili recipes. Members of the Veteran’s Resource Center competed head to head for the title of chili champion.”

Lin came across Guan’s artwork while searching for a location to use his visiting artist grant from Fujian Normal University in China. After viewing Guan’s dynamic metal paintings on Minnesota State University Moorhead’s website, he knew he wanted to work with him — enough to uproot his family and move to Moorhead to study with Guan for a year. Lin asked Guan via email to be his mentor, and that’s when their paths officially crossed.”

MSUM’s Riewer to play in Czech Republic, reunite with ex-teammate Sevlie, WDAY: “In 2014, Jordan Riewer and Isaac Sevlie were starters and teammates on the Minnesota State University Moorhead men’s basketball squad that qualified for the NCAA Division II Elite Eight and won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference title. Two years later, the two will be re-united on the basketball court for the BK NH Ostrava professional team in the Czech Republic.”

Former Dragons wrestler and UFC heavyweight Johnson ready for ‘contract fight’, Inforum: “Tim Johnson has to go through a 6-foot-7, 240-pound Russian fighter to take the next step in his mixed martial arts career. Johnson, a former Minnesota State Moorhead wrestler, could move closer to being a top-10 heavyweight with a win Saturday, Nov. 19, at UFC Fight Night 99 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.”

Dragons race past NMU men, 104-68, The Mining Journal: “Northern Michigan University couldn’t slow the sharpshooters from Minnesota State-Moorhead and lost a 104-68 decision in a college men’s basketball game played at the Berry Events Center on Friday night.”

Contrary to stereotypes about millennials and sex, millennials tend to have fewer sexual partners and tend to not use dating apps compared to their predecessors among baby boomers.
