Emerging Leaders

Are you looking to #GetActive, #GetConnected, and to #GetInvolved? Emerging Leaders is a free leadership opportunity available to all students at MSUM who are looking to learn more about leadership.

Emerging Leaders is an eight-week program, where Emerging Leader groups meet for an hour each week. The program is more geared towards underclassmen, but upperclassmen are welcome to sign up.

The main purpose of Emerging Leaders is to help MSUM students develop the leadership skills they will need to become active and engaged members of MSUM and the Community. It is important to note that you do not have to consider yourself a leader to participate in Emerging Leaders.

Every week the program covers a new topic related to the Social Change Model of Leadership Development, which examines leadership from the individual, group, and community/society perspectives.

Sessions available for this semester will be Tuesdays 3-4pm, Wednesdays 6-7pm, and Thursdays 4-5pm. The deadline to sign up for Emerging Leaders is September 16th and sessions start September 20th.

In addition to the weekly sessions, Emerging Leaders will participate in DragonsGive, a donation-based fundraising events happening during Homecoming. The program also has a required Saturday service event on October 22nd and a Celebration on November 15th 7-9pm.

If you are looking for an opportunity to learn about leadership, sign up for Emerging Leaders today!
