Louise Pinkerton working with performing arts students

Former MSUM faculty member and voice disorders expert Louise Pinkerton is on campus this week, working with School of Performing Arts students in the Acting for Musical Theatre course. Louise recently earned her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Iowa. In September, she will join the outpatient team at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, where she will treat voice disorders, aphasia, dystharthria, stuttering and other communication disorders.  Louise is a singing voice specialist with a Master’s in Vocal Performance and advanced training in performance voice habilitation and rehabilitation. Louise sang with the Rome Festival Opera, Opera in the Ozarks, Fargo-Moorhead Opera and was a two-time Regional Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.  During her studies at Iowa, Louise was the recipient of a prestigious ASH Foundation Graduate Award, P.E.O. International ELF award, and a teaching assistantship.
