“From East to West — Zhimin Guan’s Visual Journey” opens April 1
A solo exhibit of paintings by Zhimin Guan, Art, opens April 1 at the Bismarck Art & Galleries Association in Bismarck, and runs until May 1. The show, titled “From East to West — Zhimin Guan’s Visual Journey,” consists of Guan’ s 25 figurative, abstract and landscape paintings on wood, metal and canvas. Guan also received an Individual Artist Grant from The Arts Partnership. Guan plans to create 10 large landscape paintings on North Dakota.
The paintings will show throughout North Dakota in a variety of galleries and museum settings. This summer, Guan’s paintings and his art presentations will also be featured in a group show at the China National Museum in Beijing and Guizhou University, in Guizhou province, south of China. Last month, Guan also taught ink painting workshops at Moorhead High Schools, West Fargo East Wood Elementary School. In April, he will teach at the St. Cloud State University Confucius Institute for training Chinese language and cultural teachers.
