Final VP university advancement candidates to hold open forums Wednesday and Friday
Four candidates for the new position of Vice President for University Advancement have been selected, and the remaining candidates to be interviewed on campus will hold public forums this week.
Candidate Gary Haugo’s public forum will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 30 in CMU 101. Candidate Jon Olson’s public forum will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 1 in CMU 101.
Haugo has been Director of Development at Concordia College in Moorhead since 2011. Prior to that, he served as Concordia’s Major Gifts Officer (2007-2011). He was a Sales and Marketing Representative for Novo Nordisk in Rochester, Minnesota (2006-2007), and with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in Rochester (2004-2006). He taught social studies and coached at high schools in Pequot Lakes, Crookston, and Hinckley Finlayson (1994-2002). He holds a Master of Educational Leadership, Educational Administration from North Dakota State University and a B.A. in Social Studies and Physical Education from Concordia College-Moorhead.
Olson is Vice President for the Northern State University Foundations in Aberdeen, South Dakota (since 2014). He was Director of Development for Bemidji State University Foundation (2011-2014), and Assistant Athletic Director at Upper Iowa University, Fayette, Iowa (2009-2011). He served as Director of Development at Hellman/Build Our Ballpark in Waterloo, Iowa (2008-2009) and as Campaign Coordinator for Cedar Valley United Way in Waterloo (2005-2008). He holds as Master of Sport Administration and Facility Management from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and a B.A. in Spanish with Secondary Education Emphasis from St. John’s University, Collegeville, Minnesota.
The other two candidates are Ohmar Land, Director of Major Gifts at Bowie State (Maryland) University and Joy Crouch, Director of Development-Planned Giving for the MSU Moorhead Alumni Foundation.
