Undergraduate Economic Review recognizes research accomplishments of two more MSUM students
May 2015 MSUM graduates, Iwnetim Abate and Kofi Boadu, are the latest to publish their undergraduate research papers in Undergraduate Economic Review. These publications mark the sixth time since 2005 that MSUM students have published research in this journal. Abate, who majored in Physics and minored in Economics and Mathematics at MSUM, developed the paper, “The adoption of solar cells in the US: A cross-section analysis” under the guidance of Dr. Oscar Flores. Boadu, an Economics graduate mentored by Drs. Oscar Flores and T. J. Hansen, authored the paper, “Exploring economic and social factors that increase economic and well-being measurements of developing and developed countries.”
Abate is employed as a researcher at IBM Almaden in San Jose,CA currently. He develops next generation energy and data storage devices, Li-air batteries and Racetrack Memory, respectively. Boadu, an entrepreneur launching his first app in May 2016, is interning with a UC Berkeley professor on a project aimed at educating wealth managers, investors, traders, and educators about behavioral finance. He has been accepted in the Behavioral Economics graduate program at the University of Warwick in England and will begin studying there in fall 2016.
