Musical showcases work of current and former Theatre faculty
Music Theatre Fargo-Moorhead continues its season with Stephen Sondheim’s groundbreaking musical comedy, Company, directed by retired theatre faculty member David Wheeler. Theatre faculty member Craig Ellingson serves as the artistic director of the company. Evening shows run Feb. 25 to 27 and again March 3 to 5 at 7:30 p.m. Matinees take place on Feb. 28 and March 6 at 2 p.m. All shows are at The Stage at Island Park in Fargo. Company tells the story of Bobby, a young man struggling to make a commitment. The play’s vignettes show Bobby’s relationships with five of his favorite couples, as well as his relationships with three current girlfriends. The interactions are sometimes sardonic, other times heartbreaking and often hilarious. The play is regarded as a sophisticated and honest look at modern, adult relationships. It won seven TONY Awards including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Lyrics and Best Book. Company first opened on Broadway at the Alvin Theatre in 1970. Tickets are available at musictheatrefm.com or 701-235-6778.
