Shireen Alemadi selected for United Way 35 Under 35 Women’s Leadership Program

The 8th annual United Way 35 Under 35 Women’s Leadership program will begin in January and Shireen Alemadi, Director of Community Outreach at Minnesota State University Moorhead has been selected as one of the 35 participants.
Participants take part in 6 different sessions throughout the winter/spring that cover a variety of leadership topics. “Each session is led and presented by local leaders and includes training and discussion related to the themes as well as goal-setting, communication, personal growth, leadership, public speaking, conflict management and several additional leadership topics.” – United Way

Program information states that there are many benefits to employers and their employees that participate because the participants will:
– Connect with a diverse network of dynamic young women and local leaders
– Expand knowledge of the community and opportunities to serve in leadership positions
– Be energized, motivated and equipped to sharpen their skill set
– Gain confidence and skills to lead in current and future positions at their organizations

Since the start of this program in 2009 there have been 245 local women that have participated in the program. MSUM is happy to have Shireen Alemadi added to the list and looks forward to having others added in the future.
