MSUM’s “Fuego Tropical” performs in Ulen, MN
MSUM’s “Fuego Tropical” World Music and Percussion Ensemble, directed by Dr. Kenyon Williams, hit the road this past weekend to perform at the Top Hat Theatre in Ulen, MN as a part of Ulen’s Community Performing Arts Series. Their performance included guest artist Ruben Alvarez (Latin Percussionist) as well as MSUM School of Performing Arts faculty members Dr. Tom Strait (trumpet) and Dr. Sherinne Mosten (jazz voice). The evening was filled with the cool sounds of Trinidadian steel drums and the hot music of Cuban salsa, all performed for a very appreciative audience grateful for the opportunity to hear MSUM students share their talents beyond the boundaries of the FM area.
