MSUM has decided to not purchase subscription to BlueLight app.

Last spring, MSUM initiated a pilot test of the BlueLight app., a safety feature designed to send distress signals from mobile devices. After reviewing the data on the download rate and use of the BlueLight app., MSUM has decided to not purchase a University-paid subscription.

Faculty, staff and students who registered for the app. during the free trial will be required to pay if they choose to continue using the service. The service will continue to function on or off campus as it is designed to, but the subscription will no longer be free. Information about pricing and other related topics can be found at the BlueLight FAQ. App. users are also encouraged to view information at their appropriate Android and Apple stores.
