Accessing Higher Ground virtual conference wraps up today

The Accessing Higher Ground virtual conference will wrap up on Friday with topics regarding the use of Universal Design to assist all learners (including those with disabilities).

HIGHLIGHTED SESSION

Time: 10:15 am – 12:30 pm (double-session)

Title: When the Dept of Justice/Office of Civil Rights makes a visit: Campus leaders discuss lessons learned in resolving complaints about inaccessible IT

Summary: Presenters in this session will address issues related to ensuring the accessibility of IT to all faculty, students, staff and visitors with disabilities. They will share the results of more than a dozen legal challenges regarding the accessibility of IT on campuses nationwide and lessons that can be learned from the resolutions.

Note: Although the topic uses the word “IT” this session touches on the accessibility of all digital content used by the campus, including media, course content, forms, web sites, and so on.
