“MINNECANOS” on Gaede Stage tonight
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will be hosting Mixed Blood Theatre for a performance of MINNECANOS on Tuesday, October 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Gaede Stage, Center for the Arts.
Mixed Blood Theatre is a regional arts organization devoted to cultural pluralism, individual equality, and artistic excellence.
Minnecanos is about an irascible old man who uses the memorabilia of his lifetime to introduce his great-granddaughter to their shared heritage in this delightful look at a century’s worth of Chicano cultural history. Brimming with energetic corridas (story-songs), some surprisingly touching reconciliations among the man’s family, and more than a little humor, this is a buoyant celebration of Chicano accomplishments and aspirations in Minnesota and beyond.
This event is free and open to the public. If you have any questions, please call (218) 477-2652 or email diversity@mnstate.edu.
