Q: How do I update my classlist in D2L Brightspace?
A: Student enrollments are handled automatically by ISRS (Integrated Statewide Record System) so there is no need to update it manually. Once a student enrolls in a course, their enrollment is registered in ISRS which, in turn, updates the Classlist in D2L Brightspace. Additions and withdrawals are updated throughout the day beginning a few weeks before the new semester. Updates usually occur at 11 am, 4 pm, and between 11 pm and midnight each day.
Q: Can I add a TA or member of our office staff to help enter grades?
A: Yes. TAs are required to complete the FERPA Tutorial. Refer to the D2L Brightspace Enrollments page for more information. For FERPA purposes, you also need to add a statement in your syllabus providing information about the person that was added and their role in the course.
Q: Can I see a list of students who were dropped from my D2L Brightspace course?
A: Yes. Log into your course in D2L Brightspace. Select Communications + Classlist from the navbar. Click the [Enrollment Statistics] button. Scroll down until you see the list of student withdrawals.
Q: How do I add another faculty member to my course?
A: If the faculty member is (or will be) listed as a co-instructor on the Course Schedule, you need to do nothing. ISRS will enroll the instructor automatically into the course as a Teacher. If, on the other hand, the faculty member will not be listed on the Course Schedule, we need to receive approval from your Dean to add the person to your course. For FERPA purposes, you also need to add a statement in your syllabus indicating that the person has been added and their role in the course.
