Graduate Director Announcement

Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Lisa Karch has agreed to serve as the Director of Graduate Studies, effective July 1, 2015. Dr. Karch received a BA in Secondary Health Education from Concordia College, Moorhead; a MEd in Counseling from North Dakota State University; a Specialist Degree from MSU Moorhead and a PhD in Human Development and Education from North Dakota State University. She has been a member of the graduate faculty in the Counseling and Student Affairs graduate program since 2009, and program coordinator since 2012. She is currently serving as chair of the School of Social Work and Counseling and Student Affairs.

Dr. Karch has a demonstrated passion for, and commitment to, the success of graduate education and research at MSUM. She will use her expertise and experience to serve as a respected advocate in campus discussions regarding the important role graduate programs have in helping position MSUM for a successful future. I am confident that her inclusive leadership style and vision for strategically strengthening our graduate offerings will advance the profile of our graduate offerings.

Please join me in congratulating Lisa on her new appointment and thanking her for her willingness to serve in this important role. Also, please join me in thanking the members of the search
committee, chaired by Dr. Lee Vigilant, for their excellent work.
