Director of Graduate Studies Open Forums Announced
Director of Graduate Studies Open Forums Announced: Brian Smith, Margaret Potter, Lisa Karch, Olivia Melroe.
Brian Smith has been a faculty member at MSU Moorhead since 1999. Dr. Smith has taught primarily in Foundations of Education. He served as the Director of the Counseling and Student Affairs Graduate Program for three years and also co-chaired Graduate Council for one year. Dr. Smith received a BS in Education/English and Psychology from Northern Arizona University, a MA in Teaching from SIT in Brattleboro, Vermont and a PhD in Educational Psychology from Washington State University. Dr. Smith will have an Open Forum on Thursday, April 16 at 3:00 p.m.in CMU 227.
Margaret Potter has been on the faculty in the Psychology Department at MSU Moorhead since 1987. Dr. Potter served as the Director of the School Psychology graduate program for 16 years from 1989 to 2009 and was a member of Graduate Council during those years. She has also served on the Institutional Review Board since 2012. Dr. Potter received her BA in Psychology from the University of North Dakota, a MA in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota and a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Potter will have an Open Forum on Tuesday, April 21 at 3:00 p.m. in CMU 227.
Lisa Karch has been a faculty member in the Counseling and Student Affairs graduate program since 2009. Dr. Karch has been the Program Coordinator for the Counseling program since 2012 and is also the chair of the School of Social Work and Counseling and Student Affairs. Dr. Karch received a BA in Secondary Health Education from Concordia College, Moorhead; a MEd in Counseling from North Dakota State University; a Specialist Degree from MSU Moorhead and a PhD in Human Development and Education from North Dakota State University. Dr. Karch will have an Open Forum on Thursday, April 23 at 3:00 p.m. in CMU 227.
Olivia Melroe has been a member of the Psychology faculty at MSU Moorhead since 1995. Dr. Melroe coordinated the School Psychology graduate program for six years. She has been the co-chair of the Graduate Council for the last three years. Dr. Melroe received a BFA in Fine Art from Minneapolis College of Art and Design, a MA in School Psychology from MSU Moorhead and an EdD in School Psychology from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion. Dr. Melroe will have an Open Forum on Tuesday, April 28 at 3:00 p.m. in CMU 227.
