Percussion Ensemble Gets Dramatic
The MSUM Percussion Ensemble, inspired by Broadway groups like “Stomp!” and “The Blue Man Group,” presents a show called “Lights, Camera, Drum!” on Friday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. on the Hansen Theatre stage on then MSUM campus.
The concert features drumming, drama, lighting effects, music, and motion. Percussionists will use everything from snare drums and marimbas to cigarette lighters, balloons, cardboard boxes, and even hand-made “tubulum” percussion instruments custom built by local instrument designer Chris Dew.
Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students, and can be purchased at the door or online via www.mnstate.edu/tickets.
