Humphers-Ginther presented at Intro to Arts & Aging Workshop

Dr. Sue Humphers-Ginther, Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice and Gerontology Program Coordinator, presented a session on “Myths and Realities, Demographics, and the Aging Brain” at the Intro to Arts & Aging Workshop on March 25 at the Plains Art Museum. Similar workshops in Minnesota communities are designed for artists, arts and cultural organizations, health providers, caregivers, and senior-serving organizations and include interactive demonstrations of the ArtSage interdisciplinary, multi-modal approach taught by master teaching artists. Participants learn about the latest research supporting the multitude of benefits of arts participation for older adults, network with others in their communities interested in the field of arts and aging, and connect with resources to support efforts to integrate the arts into programming.
