Dr. Camille Brandt, STL, and undergraduate teacher candidates developed service learning project

Dr. Camille Brandt, School of Teaching and Learning, and undergraduate teacher candidates Jody Larson, Camille Lepp, and Michaela Kolness developed a service learning collaborative project with the Plains Art Museum in Fargo, North Dakota, to create a community-based event for children and families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorders. Museum staff, docents, parents, and children partnered with the candidates from MSUM and Dr. Brandt to develop and implement strategies, modifications, and sensory-friendly experiences at the museum for a series of hands-on classes. The first class was held on Saturday, February 7th. Feedback from children and families was overwhelmingly positive, with many compliments to the students from MSUM.
