Tim Harms, Math Dept., Steve Lindaas, Physics Dept., and Teresa Shume from the School of Teaching and Learning and Biosciences presented a poster session at the Midwest Regional Robert Noyce Conference. The poster session titled: “Partnerships to Strengthen Noyce Recruitment and Retention” was presented in Omaha, NE Oct. 2nd.
Through our Noyce Capacity Building grant we have identified local math and science teachers that have ignited interns desire to teach. We have learned what needs to change when internships were not successful. Partnerships with area two year colleges have also been something that we have been gradually been developing. Ways we have worked with colleagues from community colleges was part of the poster session.
