MSUM’s Club Baseball team has advanced to the DII World Series in Paducah, Kentucky!
After sweeping the District V tournament last weekend, The MSUM Dragon Baseball Club has punched their ticket to the NCBA DII World Series May 16-20 in Paducah Kentucky. MSUM pulled out victories against the University of Wisconsin, the University of Minnesota and Grand Valley State University. GVSU was the #1 seed in the tournament and #2 ranked team in the Week 22 Rawlings DII Top 15 Poll that came out April 24th.
In the Week 24 DII National Poll, the Dragons have jumped to the #6 spot, the highest ranking in MSUM Club team history.
MSUM also received the #6 seed in the World Series. They will square off against #3 seeded University of Akron at 1:10 pm on Friday, May 16th at Brooks Stadium.
Player of the week:
#9 – Dylan Kadrmas OF/P
MSU – Moorhead
Kadrmas provided consistent offensive production for the Dragons throughout the District V Playoff. In three games, he went 5-for-7 with a triple, 3 RBI, 3 runs scored, 1 stolen base and 2 walks!
Pitcher of the week:
#23 – John Sawatzky C/P
MSU – Moorhead
John Sawatzky shut down Minnesota in the District V Playoff earning a CG victory. Against the Gophers he allowed only 2 runs (1 earned), scattered 9 hits, walked two, and struck out 12 batters!
