Interim Dean of College of Education and Human Services and Graduate Studies: Call for Applications
The Interim Dean of the College of Education and Human Services and Graduate Studies is a full-time, twelve-month position with an appointment of one year and a starting date of July 1, 2014. The Dean reports to the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs.
The Interim Dean will provide academic leadership and coordination for the College of Education and Human Services and will serve on the President’s Cabinet, the Academic Affairs Council (AAC), and other University committees as needed. The Interim Dean also supervises the operations of the Graduate Studies Office, serves on the MSUM Graduate Council, represents Graduate Studies at AAC and Meet & Confer meetings, and serves as the MSUM Administrative representative to the MnSCU Graduate Council.
This is an internal search, limited to current faculty at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Requirements include:
- Earned doctorate.
- Record of effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and scholarly achievement.
- Commitment to collaborative decision making.
- Evidence of involvement in and experience with graduate programs.
- Experience with professional accreditation, curriculum development, and assessment of student learning at the higher education level.
- A demonstrated commitment to support and enhance the diversity of the campus community.
- Seven (7) years of teaching and administrative experience.
- A record of scholarly accomplishment commensurate with a senior appointment in one of the departments within the College.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Record of having earned tenure, and achieved rank of associate or full professor.
- Evidence of professional involvement in community and region.
- Understanding of and experience with multiple methods of curriculum delivery.
- Familiarity and experience with collective bargaining agreements.
- Experience with fundraising and development activities.
- Experience in graduate program administration.
- Three (3) years as Department chair or other similar academic leadership experience in higher education.
