School of Business hosts Visiting Scholar from China
The School of Business is hosting Dr. Zou Shaohui, a Visiting Scholar from Xi’an University of Science and Technology, China, for one year. Dr. Zou is totally funded by The China Scholarship Council’s Visiting Scholar Research Program. During his year at MSUM Dr. Zou will be working on collaborative research projects with our faculty and observing different teaching methods.
Dr. Zou received his PhD, Engineering from Xi’an University of Science and Technology in 2009 and currently holds the rank of Associate Professor at the University. He is also the Associate Director of the Energy Economics and Management Research Center at Xi’an University of Science and Technology. Dr. Zou’s research is primarily in the areas of resource economics and management and he has publications in those areas.
Special awards and honors include being named ‘New Scientific Star in Shaanxi Province’ in 2012. This honor goes to individuals who have made a special contribution for Shaanxi scientific development. Dr. Zou received the 2nd prize for Science and Technology in Shaanxi Province in 2011. He had a project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and has also had six provincial projects supported.
