Wimba Issues? Update your Java Exception Setting

Are you receiving an error message when trying to log into a Wimba room? If so, it may be your Java security setting.

Oracle released a security update to Java on Jan. 14 — Version 7, Update 51. If you updated your Java application to the latest version since that date, you will receive an error when attempting to access Wimba.

Blackboard Collaborate is working on a ‘fix’ so the updated version of Java works with Wimba. In the meantime, use the instructions at the following link to add the exception to your Java Control Panel so you can use Wimba: Setting Java Exception for Wimba.
