Science majors assist third graders with Planetarium field trip
On Wednesday, December 11, over 20 Bioscience and Chemistry students took time out of their study day to work with over 150 third grade students from Detroit Lakes, Minn. The third graders were on campus for an annual field trip to the Planetarium. Because the size of the group is larger than the Planetarium can hold at one seating, the College of Science, Health & the Environment provided additional science outreach activities for the group as they rotated between sessions. Strawberry DNR extraction and Chemistry demonstrations with hands-on activities complemented the Planetarium’s Astronomy program.
