Lakes and Prairies Partnership seeks VITA volunteers
Lakes and Prairies Community Action Partnership, Inc. is once again looking for volunteers for its VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Tax Site in Moorhead. Over the years, Lakes and Prairies has provided students an outstanding, real-world, volunteer opportunity to gain insight and knowledge into taxes, government programs and benefits. Our Moorhead site will hold trainings at Concordia College in Moorhead on Wednesday and Thursday January 15-16, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. Certified IRS-Training is provided and the opportunity to help give back to the community is crucial as the vast majority of those that receive a refund will spend some of their refund dollars in our community and save some of their refund dollars in one of our community financial institutions.
Our Tax Site will be held at the Lakes and Prairies Community Action Office on the 4th Floor of the Family Service Center of Clay County, 715 11th Street North in Moorhead. The site will be open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m. from January 29-April 10, 2014.
