Presidential Search Advisory Committee Meets
The process of selecting a successor to Pres. Edna Mora Szymanski took an important step forward when the Presidential Search Advisory Committee held its initial meeting Thursday, Nov. 7. The committee is chaired by Bemidji State University President Richard A. Hanson.
The committee received its charge from MnSCU Chancellor Steven Rosenstone who asked committee members to forward a slate of about five candidates for screening, from which a group of about three will be invited to campus for interviews this spring.
The Chancellor also reminded committee members of their obligations to maintain the confidentiality of applicants until the final group is invited to participate in the on campus stages of the search.
A new presidential search website has further information on the search, including the names of search committee members and a position description. Committee Chair Hanson invited members of the MSUM community to forward the names of presidential nominees to him at rhanson@bemidjistate.edu.
