School of Business hosted reception for their new Executive Mentorship Program

The School of Business recently hosted a kick-off reception for their new Executive Mentorship Program. Students, business professionals and faculty participated in a formal meeting to begin the program and a networking reception. The program matches B-School students who are preparing to transition to the workplace with mentors who have experience related to each student’s major. Participants include majors from all areas offered in the School of Business: Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, International Business, Management and Marketing. Mentors this semester are all committed and dedicated MSUM alumni.

Students and mentors will be meeting over the course of this semester to explore industry trends, networking opportunities, resume and interviewing tips, and job shadowing. Participating students during this inaugural semester will also provide feedback to brainstorm future parameters and possibilities for the program. It is anticipated that the program will expand to include workshops for both students and mentors, topical luncheons, panel discussions and other areas as ideas are generated.
