Interim Dean of College of Humanities and Social Sciences: Call for Applications

The Interim Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences is a full-time, twelve-month position with an appointment of one year and a starting date of June 1, 2013.  The Dean reports to the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs.

The Interim Dean will provide academic leadership and coordination for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and will serve on the President’s Cabinet, the Academic Affairs Council, and other University committees as needed.

This is an internal search, limited to current faculty at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Requirements include: earned doctorate; record of commitment to scholarly achievement; record of successful college/university teaching; demonstrated skills in decision making and commitment to collaborative decision making; demonstrated skills in interpersonal relations, conflict management, oral and written communication, and analytical processes; and demonstrated commitment, support, and enhancement of diversity in faculty, staff, and students. Preferred qualifications include: evidence of familiarity with or preparation in the humanities and/or social sciences; evidence of knowledge of or commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship and programs; demonstrated support of and commitment to alternative methods of curriculum delivery; evidence of involvement in community or region; and evidence of familiarity with collective bargaining agreements.
