Alum develops official position statement on newborn screening

Leslie Darmofal, MS, ACNS-CC, RN, CRNI, is a 2011 MSUM School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership alum (Master of Science with Major in Nursing: Clinical Nurse Specialist Emphasis) and assistant professor of Nursing at Bemidji State University. She has worked for more than a year on Newborn Screening Position Statement with the International Society of Nurses in Genomics’ Ethics and Public Policy Committee. This statement is the society’s official position on the role of nurses in genomics and newborn screening. The position statement was formally approved September 2012 and is now available internationally.
