Timothy L. M. Ray

MSUM Professor Emeritus Timothy Ray, who taught for twenty-seven years in the Department of Art & Design passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, following a four-year battle with cancer. Tim was a dedicated artist, devoted colleague and an inspirational teacher.

He was one of the faculty instrumental in developing the curriculum of study for the current baccalaureate programs in the department. He was a tremendous artist who was deeply committed to the development of his creative work; the legacy he created in those works will continue to bring joy and enrichment for future viewers. Tim was also a great advocate for the arts, including being a founding member of the Fargo Moorhead Visual Artists (FMVA) organization. He will be greatly missed.
