Last chance to donate school supplies
MSU Moorhead has joined with other Fargo-Moorhead organizations to help support the 14th Annual Community School Supply Drive & Distribution, sponsored by United Way of Cass-Clay.
The MSUM school supply drive will run through Thursday, July 26 at 4:00 p.m., with distribution to children beginning on Saturday, August 11th.
In 2011, 85% of all the students who received backpacks and school supplies, self-reported that they were on free/reduced lunches. About 44% of families who receive backpacks and school supplies had an income of $0- $14,999.
NOTE: Last year, over 4,400 children were provided with supplies. Over 525 volunteers from businesses, organizations and individuals donated a tremendous amount of supplies and time to help kids in our community be confident and prepared for school.
This year, the UWCC’s would like to reach and equip 53% (4,550) of the number of students on the free and reduced lunch program in Cass & Clay County with the tools they need to go back to school prepared and ready to succeed. With more than 6,800 children in Cass and Clay Countries who receive free and reduced school lunches there is still a tremendous need!
PLEASE help solve this critical need in our community by dropping off school supplies on or before Thursday, July 26th, in the red barrels located outside the Human Resources Office, Owens 214.

New Backpacks*, Colored Pencils*, Markers*, Scissors*, 1 inch 3-ring binders*, Highlighters, Crayons, Glue, Rulers, Notebooks*, Pens*, Pencils*, Pencil Boxes/Pouches*, Erasers, Loose Leaf Paper* and 2-Pocket Folders*.

NOTE: Monetary donations are very appreciated and used to leverage the bulk purchase of school supplies and are accepted online at www.unitedewaycassclay.org or at United Way of Cass-Clay at 219 7th Street South, Fargo, ND 58103. Make checks payable to United Way School Supply Drive.
