Anti-Oppression Workshop June 7
Higher education staff from MSUM, NDSU and UND are invited to a day-long Staff Professional Development Anti-ppression Workshop on June 7, 2011 in CMU Ballroom. The workshop runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This event is sponsored by MSUM Training Our Campuses against Racism (TOCAR), North Dakota State University’s Antiracism Team, and UND’s College of Education Antiracism Team, as members of the Red River Antiracism Collaborative and the Higher Education Antiracism Teams Initiative (HEART), a bi-state, multi-campus collaborative involving the Office of the Chancellor of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.
The workshop will be facilitated by nationally recognized workshop leaders, Dr. Patricia Romney and Dr. Rita Hardiman, who visited our campus in 2005 to rave reviews. Romney and Hardiman will provide concrete strategies for building an anti-oppressive campus and workplace climate.
This event is free to MSUM and NDSU campus members and is funded in part by a grant to MSUM and NDSU as HEART members from the Otto Bremer Foundation. For other participants, the cost is $30. Lunch and materials are provided. To register, please contact Anita Bender at tocar@mnstate.edu
