Students impact communities with service, industry projects

Students in Tech 428 Project Management have completed their final service and industry projects. Pam McGee (Moorhead, MN) and Ken Karr (North Hennepin Community College, MN) teach the class.

As part of the course curriculum, students are required to execute a live nonprofit or industry project that applies the principles of project management taught in class. Students are required to assemble their own teams, find their own projects (nonprofit or industry), work with an executive sponsor, and execute the project. .

This year was especially meaningful as together these students raised money/awareness for the Big Brother Program, Sand Hill Archery, CM Society, and Minneapolis Food Bank (Drive). In addition, three industry projects were completed—an LED Lighting Analysis for MSUM, Built a Commercial Garage, and a Business Proposal for a Drive in Movie Theatre for a local venture capitalist.
