Radioactive Isotope Decay & PET/CT Imaging topic of April 15 seminar

MSUM student Kristin Brevik will present a Physics seminar on “Detecting How Radioactive Isotope Decay Affects PET/CT Imaging” at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 15 in Hagen Hall 325.

Abstract:
Kristin’s senior project revolves around the question of: Do the images from the PET/CT change as an isotope decays? She found the threshold value that closely matched the known size of the sphere she was testing. She also found the error between the known volume of the sphere and the experimental volume of the sphere are within the machine’s specifications.
