Kenyon Williams’ articles to be published
Kenyon Williams, Music and Percussion, has recently discovered that two articles he has submitted for publication will both be printed this spring. Percussive Notes, the official journal of the International Percussive Arts Society, will publish his article, “Ay Que Rico! I Love It! I Gotta Play It! But How Do I Do It? Building a Salsa/Latin Jazz Ensemble” in the March edition. The article is based upon Williams’ personal experiences forming MSUM’s own “Fuego Tropical” Steel Drum and Salsa Ensemble, as well as interviews with prominent Latin music educators.
Williams’ second article, “If You’re Reading This, You’ve Already Lost It,” about the dangers of hearing loss in percussionists as well as preventative measures, will be published in the spring/summer edition of the bi-annual newsletter of the Minnesota Percussive Arts Society Chapter.
